Phase One: Foundation
Phase One of The Forge is about stability and orientation. New residents are welcomed into the program, introduced to daily structure, and begin building the habits and goals that will carry them through the rest of their stay.
Goals of Phase One
- Stable housing. A safe, consistent place to live on our Quinlan property.
- Orientation. Understanding program expectations, schedules, and resources.
- Assessment. Identifying strengths, needs, and initial goals with staff.
- Routine. Participating in daily responsibilities, group activities, and mentorship.
- Connection. Building trust with mentors and peers in the program.
What Participants Can Expect
During Phase One, residents meet regularly with a mentor, attend life-skills and faith-based sessions, and contribute to the community through assigned tasks. We focus on accountability, honesty, and small steps forward. Progress is reviewed so that each man can move to the next phase when ready.
Length of Phase One
Phase One typically lasts several weeks to a few months, depending on individual progress and readiness. The aim is to establish a solid foundation before moving into deeper vocational and independence planning.
